1. Exhaust Hood Engineering: Lip Exhaust & Push-Pull Ventilation
The efficiency of a fume extraction system begins at the capture hood:
- Lateral Slot Hoods (Lip Hoods): Mounted directly on tank rims, these hoods pull fumes horizontally across the liquid surface. For tank widths up to 1.0 meter, a single-sided lip hood suffices; for widths between 1.0m and 1.8m, dual-sided lip exhaust hoods are required.
- Push-Pull Ventilation Systems: For wide plating vats exceeding 2.0 meters, push-pull ventilation uses a pressurized air jet on one side to carry vapors toward an exhaust suction hood on the opposite side, cutting required exhaust airflow volume by 40% to 50%.
2. Material Selection: PP-FRP vs. Solid PVC
Corrosive plating baths often operate at temperatures ranging from 55°C to 80°C (such as nickel or decorative chrome). Solid PVC ducting softens and sags above 55°C.
